Veterans Service Officer

Time Commitment: 20-30 hours/week, short-term project

micro1 is looking for VA-accredited Veterans Service Officers to help evaluate and improve AI systems on veterans benefits topics. You’ll use your claims experience to check that questions sound like real veterans and families, and that answers are correct and useful. Accuracy comes first. Scope of Work

• Review sample veterans benefits questions and flag any that don’t sound like what real veterans or family members ask.
• Write rubrics that define a correct, complete answer on service-connected disability compensation, including filing a claim and the evidence involved.
• Cover dependents and survivor benefits (such as DIC and CHAMPVA) and appeals and decision reviews in your rubrics.
• Evaluate AI-generated answers against your rubrics, flagging errors, omissions, and outdated guidance.
• Share clear written feedback with the project team, working asynchronously.

Required Qualifications

• Current VA accreditation (VSO representative, County Veterans Service Officer, accredited claims agent, or similar)
• 1+ years preparing and filing VA claims for veterans or their families
• Working knowledge of disability compensation, dependents and survivor benefits, and appeals
